Editing the email templates page

 

 
To get to the Email Templates page hover over My Account and click Settings, then click Email Templates.

ReviewRail sends out 3 feedback emails to your customer and then 3 followup referral emails only to your happy customers on your behalf. Everything is automatically setup when you sign up for a RR account. Show were the emails are

On this page you can edit the emails and times they are sent out. You can also turn these emails on or off.

The send times and emails have been crafted to get you better results so we recommend you keep them as is.
Currently the format is in an HTML view and we are working on adding a more user friendly interface which would be similar to editing a word document.

To edit the subject line you’ll want to edit this field. We pull your account info in from this shortcode.

To edit the email body copy you’ll edit the copy in this box. If you enter your customer’s first name into the system, we pull that into the email to make it more personable. I recommend you always try to enter at least a first name when adding a customer to RR. The more personal the email sounds, the better chance you have of getting feedback.

If you don’t want to mess with the HTML code here, feel free to email our support what you want in the email and we’ll be happy to update your templates.

Here you can change the time an email is triggered to send and time of day to send.

As a default, the feedback emails are setup to send on day 1, day 4 and day 7 of when a customer is added to RR. But if a user leaves feedback on day 3, the day 7 email will not be sent.

The referral emails are setup to send right after someone leaves happy feedback, and then on day 3 and on day 6. Your customer will get all of these emails. The first one in this series is the help you get more 3rd party reviews so I suggest you leave it as is.

Since it’s calculated in seconds, those times look like this: show notepad file

FEEDBACK EMAILS
86400 = 1 DAY after entered into RR
345600 = 4 DAYS after entered into RR
604800 = 7 DAYS after entered into RR

REFERRAL EMAILS
60 = 1 MINUTE after leaving positive feedback
259200 = 3 DAYS after leaving positive feedback
604800 = 7 DAYS after leaving positive feedback

We are working on making this a little more user friendly and it will be a future update. There is a slight lag when an email is sent out in the system for security reasons. So it you set an email to be triggered immediately, it could take 5-10 minutes.

By adjusting the time of day to send, your emails will only send at those times. So if you only want RR to send emails between 9 and 12pm, you would pick this option. Currently the time is based off of EST time and by default, emails will send between 9 and 9am.

To turn an email on or off click the on/off button and then click update settings at the bottom.
